The National Centre of Theatre and Dance in Valtice

20.08.2015

Baroque chateau in Valtice is for long time in the catalog of "Remarkable places for remarkable meetings" as an attractive incentive tourism destination thanks to the fact that in this chateau is situated wine-tasting exposition of the National Wine Centre with one hundred best wines from Bohemia and Moravia.

Since this summer the offer of the chateau Valtice was extended. The National Centre of Theatre and Dance was created via the reconstruction of three protected historical buildings at the State Chateau in Valtice - former Baroque theatre, historical riding halls and former gardener's house.

This resulted in infrastructure with unique technological facilities for experimental theatre and dance, the seat of the National Center of Theatre and Dance.

A theatre hall for 240 persons was built in the original baroque theatre chateau building and technological facilities for performers were also renovated. The riding hall will fulfil the function of a large hall for up to 800 people. These three historic buildings that were not fully utilized due to their conditions will provide facilities for theatre and dance performances and a facility for study. Creative meetings, workshops and artistic performances of ensembles focused on theatre and dance will be regularly organized at renovated premises.

"It is after last year's opening of the Lednice Chateau Multipurpose Centre the biggest news of the year in the Lednice-Valtice area. Now we can offer an interesting spaces not only to artists for representation of historical performance, but also to the organizers of theatre and music festivals, creative workshops and other events with an artistic focus, " said Petr Ryšánek , Managing Director of Moravia Convention Bureau.

Those who are interested in renting a multifunctional hall of the former riding school for 1000 people with modern facilities for the organization of educational, cultural and social events, as well as Baroque theater for 240 spectators, can contact Moravia Convention Brno (www.moraviaconvention.com).
